Another trip to our wards at the Bukyvo children's boarding house
"The wonderful nature around, where the girl's boarding house in the Bukovo is hidden among the forests and picturesque meadows, is always in the center of our attention. And although the word "boarding school" draws in imagination gloomy, gray buildings and dilapidated, swampy paths between them, you, on the contrary, through the dissolved gate get to a very cozy place with colorful and well-kept houses and flower beds, a paved yard and a fenced garden, where there are carrots, and potatoes, and onions, and many other vegetables and a cowshed, where milk and butter and cheese for girls come from. Cozy and beautiful," says Veronika Khidchenko, the head of the CF "Rozvytok Hromady"".
We talked with the director of the institution, Mykola Striukovyi, about the problems that came with the war, but also about the joys, including the new cutting and sewing training center, where the first two "Zelman" sewing machines have already been delivered (the center is designed for six). But all these are only material problems, which are gradually being solved. In fact, you understand how much work and health, patience and compassion are needed to communicate and educate the residents of this special place. And just during our stay, other volunteers came there with a giant panda and the mood of the girls immediately improved: they began to dance and sing along with the toy, and in between they did not forget to run up to us to hug and talk about their own. How they lack love and warmth!
And these small joys, which we brought them in the form of gifts: shoes, hygiene items, fruits, sweets and other things, made their weekday brighter and warmer. With all this we were helped by our regular donors and partners, to whom we are immensely grateful. Nevertheless, human hugs and the sharing of information about fictional trips to the sea and to "aunt in Poland", about mythical gentlemen and friends from "that world beyond the gate" have the right to be in their imagination, as well as in every average person who does not live maybe without other same people and dreams.
However, they actually have one couple in love - and they are the well-known Tania and Andriyko, on whose behalf we presented the girl with a soft cat toy.
