"Abu-Kasymovs kaptsi" in Petrykivskyi Children's House-Boarding School
Ternopil Department of NGO "Community Development" on Saturday held a rally for children from Petrykivskyi orphanage. The participants discussed the famous Franko tale "Abu-Kasymovs kaptsi",to the children were gaven shoes as a gift.
The basis of the tale of "Abu-Kasymovs kaptsi" Ivan Franko took the collection of Arab tales. The author has introduced some new motifs in the text and tried to direct the attention of readers from the fabulous events to real life. A writer with humor describes the life of the old miser, the Baghdad merchant Abu-Kasym, who care about money and who walks always in dirty torn up clothes and old torn sneakers.
The purpose was to instill in the children in the orphanage love to be creative, to develop observation, to acquaint the children with the works of Ukrainian classics.
After discussion of the tales , children received a gift of shoes from the patron store "Elen".
