In Ivano-Frankivsk people with special needs along with the activists of the NGO "Community Development" collected funds on ramps

People with special needs worked on paintings in the framework of the project "So different – but equal". The event was held by activists of the NGO "Community Development" jointly with the Charitable Foundation "Hrebet" in a public restaurant "Urban Space 100". For all comers a master class on painting held Ivano-Frankivsk’s artist Jaroslav Viznovych.

Disabled people painted pictures to attract public attention to the urgent problems of their city. They themselves undertook to make Ivano-Frankivsk more comfortable for all residents.

Paintings of special artists will then be sold at auction and the proceeds will go on construction of ramps in public places – theatres, museums, hospitals.

According to participants, Ivano-Frankivsk, is yet not adapted for people with special needs. But the solution is not a priority for local authorities.

  • Officials of our city almost don't care about comfortable movement. Rarely you can see the ramp, it is difficult to get not only to the theater, but even to the shop, - complains Iryna, one of the participants of the project.

NGO "Community Development" actively encourages city authorities and all conscious citizents of Ivano-Frankivsk not to be indifferent to the problems of the city and to support similar initiatives in the future. We are all equal and deserve dignity.

The project "So different –but equal" has been successfully implemented in different cities of Ukraine. Soon to buy a special picture and become a part of an important change will be able citizents of Ivano-Frankivsk.
Sincerely grateful to everyone who supported the project and to its participants. Special thanks to Ltd. Art Company "Forrest Gump".
