The Auchan Foundation will support the best social projects
Yesterday, October 16, the online protection of social projects of Auchan Foundation for young people in the direction of healthy nutrition and health took place. NGO "Rozvytok Hromady" submitted a project for buying the equipment for the creation of a dairy farm for girls’ orphanage in Bukowsko. In July this year, at the preparatory stage of writing the project representatives of the social direction of the NGO together with the employees of Auchan supermarkets, made a study visit to the boarding school in Bukowsko, where they got acquainted with the students and the management of the institution, studied all the possibilities of the plan realization. The grant amount is more than 3 thousand Euros.
“The idea of setting up a dairy farm in boarding school in Bukowsko, was not born because of grant. This is the result of the implementation of the project "Family Leisure for orphanages", which has been supported for two years by the Family Policy units of the Department of Social Welfare Lviv Regional State Administration. We visited the orphanage and saw proper living conditions for girls with mental disabilities, a high level of staff and management of the institution and a great desire to create conditions for the socialization, education and supporting of girls, which, unfortunately, is not always possible only for budget expenses. The desire to help the pupils and the management of the boarding school has developed into the idea of this project,”said during online protection the head of the grant organization of the NGO Mariia Vahila.
At this stage the project has passed the main stages of selection and is waiting a final verdict. The project will be implemented in close cooperation with the staff of the supermarket Auchan Sokilnyky that will be involved in the installation of equipment, manufacturing and permanent patronage of the boarding school throughout the year. Such close cooperation between the NGO "Rozvytok Hromady" and the chain of supermarket Auchan will not be something new, because collaborative project "Box of goodness" is already being implemented (special boxes, which are installed in all shops of this network of Lviv and are aimed at helping poor people.)
The Auchan Youth Foundation was established in 1996 and, for today, it has supported more than 1,000 projects worldwide. In Ukraine, the Foundation launched its activities in 2011 and the project of the NGO "Rozvytok Hromady" will be the 30th project that will receive funding from the Foundation. The projects of NGOs L'Arche-Kovcheh, Ecoterra and the Charitable Organization "Caritas-Lviv UGCC" Charitable Foundation were also selected
