Today in Ukraine the International Anti-Corruption Day is marked
On December 9, 2003 in Merida, Mexico the UN Convention against Corruption was signed.
At the end of 2009, the Convention was signed by 140 states and 80 of them - have ratified it. Ukraine ratified the agreement on October 18, 2006. The document obliges the states, that signed the document to declare a criminal offense of bribes, embezzlement of public money and the money for corrupt profits. One of the main tasks of the NGO "Rozvytok Hromady" as an active institution of Ukrainian society is to fight against corruption.
For Ukraine, the issue of corruption continues to be one of the most urgent, because according to the level of corruption we occupy in the world it is almost the highest in the world. In fact, the day, that we celebrate today is a wonderful occasion to raise the attention to the need for community rejection of corruption, which has an outstanding harm to the national welfare.
The activists of the NGO "Rozvytok Hromady" take regularly active measures to counter corruption in Lviv.
One example of the tyranny and the corruption of public officials were the example of shocking bribe from one of the inspectors of the tax administration. We should remind, that the workers of LLC "Trading House"All for You " appealed to the NGO workers and talked about demanding a bribe of 650 dollars from the inspector. The Head of the Main Department of Internal Security of the Ministry of income in Lviv region – Andriy Mahdyak, who was subordinate and the supervisor, strongly avoided the public meetings. Also Mahdyak A.Y. refused to undergo a polygraph test. The social activists sent an official letter of complaint to the head of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, who immediately responded to it.
In view of the recent events, when there are major changes in political and public life of our country there must be a change and some views on the issue of fighting against corruption. Today, it is important to realize, that the fight against corruption should be considered as national and a priority. A special role in the control of anti-corruption authorities should play, in fact, the NGOs, the media, the representative bodies and every one of us.

"No matter how sad the point is, but corruption is the negative factor, that destroys the foundation and the basis of our state from the inside. The big role in the formation of civilized relations, as such is happening in the leading countries, relies on the civil society. Frankly to say, because of such reasons like to revitalize these good traditions, the fairness and the public initiative was created our NGO "Rozvytok Hromady". We want to be the example, the model rules of conduct for the officials, the bureaucrats, the civil servants, the local government, and ordinary citizens, "- said the head of department "Interaction with authorities" - Yuriy Tatomyr.
