“European Assembly of Women-deputies.” presented the initiative of “Corner of Goodness” with the diploma, as one of the best in 2019

At the end of September, the ceremony of awarding the winners of the Second All-Ukrainian Contest "Best Women's Initiatives, which became Important for the Democratic Development of Local Communities (Cities, Towns, Districts)" was held at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The competition was organized by the European Assembly of Women Deputies in partnership with the Association of Ukrainian Cities, the Council of Europe Office in Ukraine, the All-Ukrainian Association of Women Deputies and the International Embassy of Women Entrepreneurs.

The winners are identified in the following nominations:

• "Entrepreneurship"
• “Management”
• “Public work”
• “Scientific activities”
• “ New Ukraine”

Due to the extremely interesting and high quality projects, there were more winners that was planned. “Such results add optimism and confidence in the correctness of the chosen path,” - said the President of the Assembly Anastasiia Popsui, “The competition was launched in 2017 by the European Assembly of Women Deputies in partnership with the International Embassy of Women Entrepreneurs and the All-Ukrainian Association of Women Deputies, funded by the Ministry of International Affairs of Canada through the Association of Ukrainian Cities and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.

RIA Ukraine has already written about the incredible success of “Corner of Goodness” in Lviv. Therefore, it is significant that today it was also noted at the All-Ukrainian level within the walls of our parliament.

This project has proven to be a progressive European initiative not only in Lviv. Such cosy children's rooms for recreation the NGO "Rozvytok Hromady" with the financial support of the cognominal charitable foundation also arranged in regional hospitals. In present, there are already nine such rooms where children with long-term treatment have the opportunity to relax, draw, read, play board games, watch cartoons or children's shows after the permission of a doctor. It is a kind of psychological unloading and a place where the child forgets about the complicated process of treatment, receives positive emotions and recovers faster, doctors say.

- We receive more and more new applications for the arrangement of such “Corner of Goodness”. We invite not only the great donors of the charitable foundation to support the project, but also try to get grants and encourage to it parents and children themselves. By the way, one of the corners is equipped with funds received from British Council Ukraine. Sometimes parents of child patients bring some toys and books. After all, each of us understands how it is for children to be in a hospital, how depressing it is, how important to create a positive and easy atmosphere of communication and a good mood for health,” emphasized the director of  Charitable Foundation of  “Rozvytok Hromady”. “Every year we hold a charity party as part of another our social project, the “Embroidery Festival (Vyshyvanka festival)”, where we raise funds for the purchase of baby cannulas and syringes for the “Corners of Goodness”. Kids, of course, get them for free. We invite animators and psychologists, educators and artists to help us unload baby's psyche during treatment by spending some time for the baby’s recovering.

This year, 135 projects from different parts of Ukraine were submitted to the competition, in contrast with last year, when there were only several dozen. The financial support and achievements of the projects inspired to continue initiatives and stimulate the public to manifest civic awareness and revitalizing, and also contribute to the development of civil society and the creation of a more comfortable and cosy life in Ukraine. It should be reminded that at the beginning of the year charity foundation of “Rozvytok Hromady” also won an amber angel at the All-Ukrainian Competition “Charitable Ukraine” in the “Regional Activities” section.
