"Thank you, for giving a real holiday", - Ivan, the participant of recreation- sports games for the disabled
On June 6, in Lviv were held recreational-sports games "Step to Olympus" (“Krok do Olimpu”).
Within the Platform of social initiatives, under the patronage of the NGO "Community Development" (“Rozvytok Hromady”) was implemented a social project of Wellness games for persons with spinal cord injuries. Co-organizers of the competition were also Lviv regional organization of active rehabilitation of disabled persons "Stimulus" (“Stymul”) CF "Heart of a Lion" and the Lviv regional center of physical culture and sports of persons with disabilities.
Recreational games were held in order to attract people with disabilities to the classes of recreational sports and to integrate them into a full life. The participants were delighted with sports games.
People with disabilities had the opportunity to compete in five sports.
The event was attended by over 60 persons in wheelchairs. Prizes for the winners and gifts for all participants were prepared by the activists of "Community Development" with the assistance of the Charitable Foundation. Also the event partner was PJSC "Idea Bank" who gave the participants a pleasant gift, namely, notebooks, pens and packages.

"Such a recreational game should be the first step to attracting and integration of victims in the ATO soldiers. After all, those who are in a wheelchair for many years can help and show that life goes on and we have to enjoy it", - said curator Andriy Feduniak.

- Slalom in wheelchairs (riding on obstacles in the form of architectural barriers)
- Table tennis
- Bocce
- Darts
"I don't need help, I can do it myself. Here is just wonderful, you can compete and chat with friends. It would be great if such events will be held more often," shared one participant.
