In Lviv started the project "So different – but equal"

People with special needs in the center of Lviv drew a picture, which is scheduled to be sold at auction and the proceeds will be directed for the installation of ramps.

Art event was held on September 15 at the Shevchenko Avenue (near the monument to V.Ivasiuku). Outdoor, people in wheelchairs under the guidance of artists of art Studio "Shuhliada" painted with oil paints cityscape of the native Lviv. The authors of the project, the activists of the NGO "Community Development", with event were intended to draw public attention to the problems of people with special needs.

"Our non-governmental organization is working actively with people with disabilities, we are implementing a number of projects to help the disabled, also organize interesting leisure. Today, this is our pilot project "So different – but equal" which will be held in other cities of Ukraine. Drawing pictures, people in wheelchairs have the opportunity to manifest in art and contribute to charitable affairs, because in the future their work will be sold at auction and the money will be spent on the installation of ramps," says the activist of the NGO "Community Development" Andriy Feduniak.


The action was attended by four persons in wheelchairs. Despite the lack of experience in drawing, they started to put paint on the canvas. Controlled the process the artist from art Studio "Shuhliada" Olexandra Tytyniuk. Together, the artists have completed the picture in less than three hours.



Canvas with the image of Lviv will be put up for sale at the restaurant "Mafia", located on Shevchenko Avenue. Recall that the received means will be directed on the installation of ramps. Such artistic events with the participation of people with special needs activists of "Community Development" plan in a short time to held in Ternopil and Vinnytsia.
