Activists of the NGO were involved in conducting cultural and educational activities in the native village of spiritual leader of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholics.
On 29 July 2015, at the birthplace of Metropolitan Andriy Sheptytsky in Prylbychi was held the anniversary celebrations on the occasion of the 150th anniversary from the birthday of the spiritual leader of the Greek Catholics. As you know, on November 1, 2014 in the UGCC in Ukraine started a year of Metropolitan Andriy Sheptytsky. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in June last year voted in favour of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birthday of Metropolitan at the state level.
Andriy Sheptytsky was born on 29 July, 1865. He headed the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in 1901. And was its leader until his death on 1 November 1944, Metropolitan Andriy comes from the ancient Ukrainian Ducal family genus Sheptytsky. Had several academic degrees: doctor of laws, doctor of theology, doctor of philosophy. During his tenure as head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, he was the first hierarchs who began to use in communicating with the believers the national language. First began to reign in the Liturgy in the Ukrainian language.
On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of Metropolitan Sheptytsky in his native village was hosted the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy with the participation of Preosvyaschennogo Archbishop Venedikt (Aleksiychuk), Bishop assistant of the Lviv Archeparchy of the UGCC. There were also organized cultural and educational activities. There were talented musicians. Activists of NGO «Community Development» have traditionally drawn with harmless paints on body Patriotic pictures and braided bracelets with the children.
